Duane A. Braun

Former Soldotna resident Duane A. Braun died Thursday, June 3, 2010, near Seattle. He was 27.

A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Wolverine Park in Anchorage at 1006 W. 74th Ave. Pastor Paul Hartley will officiate.

Mr. Braun was born May 9, 1983, in Anchorage, to Kurt R. Braun and Jerri D. Braun (Brossow). He was married to Melissa Christiansen-Braun. He lived in Anchorage, Soldotna and Wasilla.

"Duane loved his family and friends, but especially the kids (his cousins and son). Kids have always held a special place in his heart even when he was one," his family said. "Duane considered himself a computer geek and enjoyed playing games online. He also spent as much time as possible playing with the kids in the family. Liked to play with cars and helped at the Fur Rondy Grand Prix for several years, hoping to be able to race one day."

Mr. Braun was proceeded in death by grandfathers, Richard A Brossow and Harold F. Braun; and grandmother, Juanita M Braun.

He is survived by his parents, Kurt & Jerri Braun; sister, Annita Braun; son, Bryce Braun; wife, Melissa Christiansen-Braun; grandmother, Ann Brossow; uncles and aunts, Ricky and Marie Brossow and Robert and Jennifer Brossow; cousins, James Brossow, Ambrosia Keller, Ricky Brossow Jr, Kenneth Ellis, Dawson Ellis, Brayden Brossow, Anastasia Brossow, Layla Keller; in-laws, Nils ans Debbie Christiansen, Phillip, Aaron, Jasmine and Dena Christiansen.
