Homer resident Patrick Lee Edwards died in Homer on Thursday, June 14, 2001, of injuries from an automobile accident. He was 50.
A memorial service will be held Sunday in Homer at the Down East Saloon. His ashes will be spread on the foothills overlooking Kachemak Bay across from Homer.
Mr. Edwards was born May 2, 1951, in Cottage Grove, Ore. He attended college at Oregon State University. He worked at the Bohemia Lumber Company in Culp Creek, Ore., from 1970 to 1982. He moved to Alaska in 1994 and resided in Homer.
Mr. Edwards was a member of the Catholic faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
"He was a friend with a heart the size of Alaska," his family said.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his daughter, Jill Senior; father, John C. Edwards; and his brothers Michael, Bob and Jim Edwards.
