The Sensational Sterling SuperStars were the top fund-raising team for the Relay for Life, with more than $7,400 raised for the American Cancer Society. The team consisted of Sterling 4-H members and friends. To raise money the kids had a garage sale, provided a lunch for the teachers at Sterling Elementary School and asked for donations, had a bake sale and made and sold buttons. They also had at least one walker on the track for the entire relay.

Boy Scouts from Soldotna Troop 1616 conducted a flag ceremony at this year’s Relay for Life. Scouts participating were Zach Daly, Leif Danielson, Robert Bearheart, Tony Dombovy and Colin Dudley and troop leader Roy Dudley.
