ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The commissioner of Public Safety will become the senior executive officer of Koniag Inc. in August.
Glenn Godfrey has been a member of the Koniag board of directors since 1989 and board chairman since 1996.
Koniag is the Native regional corporation for the Kodiak area and has about 3,400 shareholders.
Under a corporate restructuring, the board chairman will become a management position with direct responsibility for nonbusiness activities.
Dennis Metrokin will continue as president of the corporation. He is preparing to take over for chief executive officer Uwe Gross, who plans to retire in March 2003.
