DAV meeting planned

The Disabled American Veterans' monthly meeting is today at 6 p.m. in the former NAPA building across from the Big Dipper Car Wash in Kenai. For more information, call 283-4359.

DOT to be at chamber meeting

The North Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will meet today at the North Kenai Baptist Church. Carl High of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities will speak. For more information, call 776-3250.

Wellness forum slated

Reliv International will host a wellness forum today at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call Shannon Vogler at (402) 782-2185.

Defensive driving course available

AARP will hold a defensive driving class today and Friday at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road for anyone age 50 or older. There is a $10 materials fee, and the class can dismiss a ticket or reduce a driving record by two points. To register, call Vivian Swanser at 260-3966.

Applications due for kids camp

Today is the final day to turn in applications for the free Elks Kids' Camp boys' session scheduled for July 28 through Aug. 3. The camp is for boys ages 9 to 13. For more information, call the Kenai Elks Lodge at 283-7776.

Basketball camp scheduled

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula will sponsor a girls basketball camp with Molly Tuter for girls going into grades three through 12. It is planned for Aug. 1 through 3 at Kenai Middle School. Early registration has been extended to June 30 and can be taken at the club Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 283-2682.

Science institute planned for teachers

The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska and the Alaska Science Consortium will co-sponsor a week-long summer institute for teachers to be held at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai.
