A day on the water

Posted: Friday, June 20, 2003

A boat cruise through Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords National Park proved to be a scenic day. The six-hour cruise was filled with all kinds of wildlife. Orca whales, top, swim by while feeding. A humpback whale, middle, breaches the surface. Sea lions, bottom left, line the rocks during their daily sunning before feeding at night. Bottom right, chunks of ice calve from Aialik Glacier, sounding like a thunderstorm as they crash into the water.
