Fund-raising efforts big hit with volunteers Cooper Landing Volunteer Ambulance Service President Michelle Stewart would like to thank all those who helped with the CLVAS concessions at the softball tournament. Thanks to everyone who signed up to volunteer, as well as the people who walked in and donated their time. A very special thank you to all the local companies who donated items for us to raffle off for our fund-raising efforts and to the food and beverage distributors in Anchorage who generously donated goods to supply the concessions. Thanks to Cooper Landing Community Club for the use of the building and kitchen facilities.
In addition, thanks to Cheryle James, for letting us purchase food for the concessions through your business, Wildman's; to Rhonda Newman, for the many hours spent collecting and preparing raffle donations; and Katie Thomas, for spending every day at the concessions.
Special thanks go to professional referee Darrell Hagen from Soldotna, who volunteered to umpire the tournament games June 4 and 5. Also Duane Ohnemus, who works with Darrell refereeing high school basketball and football. Earlier tournament umpires were from various teams and tournament manager Dan Michels also umpired.
And last, but not least, thanks to all those who supported the concessions and participated in the raffle and to the community as a whole for all your support.
This was a good first year for Cooper Landing Volunteer Ambulance Service to run the concessions, we look forward to next year.
Kay Thomas, Treasurer, Cooper Landing Volunteer Ambulance
