Where are the stewards?

Posted: Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Greed and abuse have finally polluted the Kenai to the point it is listed as impaired. Who wants to come and fish in a sewer, or be run down by some speeding fool. The Columbia in Washington can meet the need for salmon that smell like diesel.

Somewhere on the peninsula there must be enough people with common sense to protect the river and care for the wonderful environment before it is destroyed.

Drift only on the river is the obvious answer. Must the peninsula be so backward? Are there no stewards of the land?

Look at what is being done on the upper Kenai and learn from their experience.
