Free pressure canner dial gauge testing
Alaska Cooperative Extension is offering free testing of pressure canner dial gauges Wednesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Remove the dial gauge from the pressure canner and bring it to the cooperative extension office at 43961 K-Beach Rd., Suite A, any weekday between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. It will be ready to pick up Wednesday afternoon.
To ensure food is safely canned it is essential to check dial gauges annually for accuracy. Weighted gauges do not need to be checked. For more information, contact the ACE office at 262-5824.
Immunization clinic canceled
The immunization clinic scheduled for today at the Kenai Public Health Center has been canceled.

Computer basic skills class offered
PCI Skills Resource center is offering a class on basic computer skills. Participants will receive 40 hours of computer instruction on Windows 98/Office 97 and learn electronic calculators and records management, plus resume building. Job placement assistance also is offered. The class starts Monday. Preregistration is required. Call 283-4099 to reserve a space.
KDLL monthly board meeting
KDLL's monthly board meeting will be held June 29 at the KDLL studio, in the Economic Development District building three miles north of Kenai. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
Emergency Planning Committee to meet

Guided walking tours of Old Town Kenai available
One-hour guided walking tours of Old Town Kenai are available through the summer from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center, Tuesdays through Saturdays, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person and available at the center.

Kenai Peninsula Run For Women to be held
The Women's Resource and Crisis Center's 13th annual 5K/10K Run for Women will be held Aug. 12 at the Kenai softball fields green strip.
Volunteers will be needed to assist in many capacities both on race day and prior to race day.
