Ward's timing inappropriate

Posted: Monday, June 21, 2004

Recently while at work I heard an announcement on the radio made by Mr. Jerry Ward regarding the passing of our 40th President Ronald Reagan.

It seems that Mr. Ward is trying to use the death of our past president as some sort of platform for him to get public attention. Personally, I find this an egregious act, and it just further solidifies that my vote will be cast for incumbent state Sen. Tom Wagoner.

Is there no level too low for Mr. Ward to stoop for political gain? Good question in light of past and present tactics.

I had the honor of serving in the U.S. Navy for six years during the 1980s and reflect back with pride the way President Reagan pushed for a 600 ship Navy and handled the Russians and other communists with steadfast integrity and did not allow himself or our country to be intimidated by propaganda and posturing.

For Mr. Ward to try and politicize any association with the deceased president sickens me, and I hope others will see through it, as well. I am interested to know if Mr. Ward has ever served his country and if so in what capacity and for how long.
