I recently went to a town meeting held by Tony Knowles at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center. I was impressed with Tony's presentation and his grasp of the important issues that will face him in the U.S. Senate. He's obviously got the background and the experience to represent Alaska in Washington.
He's a Vietnam veteran, a father, a good husband, and a small business owner. When he was governor, he protected children by ensuring they had adequate health care. He supported our schools and helped pass an excellent Quality Schools Initiative that fits our communities and our schools.
Tony's been to the Kenai Peninsula several times already during this campaign, and I hope he comes back again. I urge people who haven't had a chance to get out and listen to Tony talk and join me in November voting for him for the U.S. Senate.
