Area residents graduate from college

Kenai resident Kimberly C. McLauryv recently graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor of science in nutrition and food management.

Jeremy Vance of Nikiski recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of arts in political science.

He is the son of Brian and Colleen Vance and a 2000 graduate of Nikiski Middle-Senior High School.

The following students graduated for Linfield College: Homer resident Kelly Marie Leal, bachelor of arts in business; and Kenai resident Matthew Burke Peters, bachelor of arts in mass communication.

Jared Robertson of Soldotna recently graduated from Montana Tech of the University of Montana with a bachelor of science in general engineering.

Area students make honor lists

Kenai resident Charles Baldwin was recently named to the dean's list at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, for the spring semester. To make the list, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a 3.45 or higher grade point average.

Baldwin is working toward a bachelor of science degree in physics.

Stacey Pault of Kenai recently was named to the dean's list at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. To make the list, a student must complete at least 24 semester hours and earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average.

She is the daughter of Joe and Katie Pault and was a 2000 graduate of Kenai Central High School.

Soldotna resident Jennifer M. Garnett recently was named to the president's list of the spring semester. To make the list, a student must earn a 3.7 or higher grade point average.

Nikiski resident Nathan Smith recently was named to the dean's list of the college of pharmacy at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. To make the list, a student must complete at least 12 semester credits and earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

He is the son of Paul and Karla Smith and a 2003 graduate of Nikiski Middle-Senior High School.

Mark Houglum of Soldotna recently was named to the dean's list at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. To make the list, a student must earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average.
