Jeff Taggart, Grant Aviation controller, recently told the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce about their service to Kenai.
Since May 15th Kenai has had a new commercial carrier providing service between Anchorage and Kenai. According to Grant Aviation controller Jeff Taggart, they are offering 8 flights a day between 5:45am and 10:25pm. "We're flying a 9 passenger Cessna 208 Grand Caravan with a pay load of about twenty eight hundred pounds that offers about 100 pounds for each passenger," said Taggart.
While Grant Aviation is a new comer to Kenai, they've been serving communities in Bush Alaska for some 34 years, "We were incorporated in 1971 by Bud O'Donnell and we've been flying to the villages ever since and recent changes have caused us to look for new markets to expand into," Taggart told the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce recently. Taggart says they will be making adjustments for the new Anchorage/Kenai market which may include schedule changes to accommodate late night or early morning connections from out of state arrivals. "We're open to suggestions and are looking forward to changing our image from a bush carrier to meet the demands of the Anchorage/Kenai market," added Taggart.
