Two earthquakes rock Kodiak

ANCHORAGE (AP) Two earthquakes struck Kodiak within hours of each other.

One earthquake struck at 3:59 a.m. Saturday, the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer reported. The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 and was centered 60 miles southwest of Kodiak City.

The other earthquake occurred at 7:43 p.m. Friday.

It was centered 70 miles south of Kodiak City and had a preliminary magnitude of 4.4.

There were no reports of injury or damage from either quake.
