Quilting on the Kenai

Events

· Viewer’s Choice Quilt Show — 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Cook Inlet Academy on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Includes quilts, artistic wearables, fabric dolls and a vendor mall. Admission is $6 one day, $13 for three days.

· Quilt walk — today, Friday and Saturday. View displays at local businesses, get a passport stamped and enter to win prizes. Passports and a map of participating businesses are available at Robin Place Fabrics, 105 Robin Place, in Soldotna and participating businesses. Stamped passports must be returned to Robin Place Fabrics by 5 p.m. Saturday.

· Treadle races — 1 p.m. Saturday at J&H Sewing and Vacuum on Binkley Street in Soldotna. Winner gets a Pfaff sewing machine.

n Art-to-Wear Fashion Show — 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Admission is $7. Grand prize drawing for a new Pfaff sewing machine will be held at the show. Must be present to win.

The following demonstrations are held as part of the Viewer’s Choice Quilt Show at Cook Inlet Academy. Demonstrations carry no extra charge than admission, unless noted.

· 3 p.m. — Log Cabin Classics, JoAnn Belling

· 4 p.m. —Artistic Wearables, Stephanie Kimura

· 7 p.m. — Quilt design and technique lecture and trunk show, JoAnn Belling ($5)

Friday

· 1 p.m. — Perfect Piping, JoAnn Belling

· 2 p.m. — Embroidery Software Intro, Sigrid Klein

· 3 p.m. — Fantastic Flying Geese, JoAnn Belling
