Drama camps planned

The Soldotna Drama Camp will be held Monday through July 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Triumvirate Theatre in the Peninsula Center Mall. Children will put on the Broadway hit “Annie” July 20-22.

The camp, taught by Paul Morin and Stephanie Bouchard, costs $420. The Soldotna camp is put on by the Alaska Children’s Institute of the Performing Arts.

The Nikiski Drama Camp will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through July 1 at the Nikiski High School Auditorium. The camp will be instructed D. Wayne Mitchell of the TBA Theatre Company in Anchorage. The camp costs $125.

Carving workshops slated

Alaska wildlife artist and sculptor Rick Scott teaches how to carve a soapstone bear in a series of one-day workshops designed for beginners from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information on classes, call 398-8233 or visit

Kenai photos wanted

The Kenai Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking for digital photos of the city of Kenai and surrounding area to be used in several projects. Anyone interested may bring photos in digital format to the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center for a preview. If selected, usage rights and payment for use will be negotiated. July mosaic classes set

The Morning Star Studio in Homer will offer the following classes, beginning in July: Beginning Fusing from 4 to 6 p.m. July 5 and 12 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8; Beginning Stained Glass on July 7 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Glass on Glass Mosaic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13; Mosaic Trivet or Mini Mirror from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14; Traditional Glass Stains from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 15; Stained Glass sunburst from 10 a.m. to noon July 18-19; Stepping Stone-Grouted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 21; Mosaic Wall Mirror from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 25-26 and Fusing with Sifted Enamels from 1 to 4 p.m. July 27.
