HAM radio field day ready to broadcast

The Moose Horn Amateur Radio Club will operate a field day station from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday at Skyview High School. The club will try to contact as many stations as possible.

It is open to the public. The club will be available to answer questions about amateur radio. There also will be amateur license testing during the field day.

Baseball game up to bat

Frontier Community Services’ annual world series baseball event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. June 30 at the Soldotna Little League fields.

A barbecue potluck and a clown are some of the planned events. Admission is free. For more information, call Kathy Kenner at 262-6331.

Volunteers get their read on

The Soldotna Public Library will hold a used book sale from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library. For more information, call 262-4227. The library is accepting donations of books and puzzles in good condition.

4-H club seeks members

The Crooked Creek Kids 4-H Club will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday and then every other Wednesday at 59325 of the Sterling Highway. For more information, call Dorothy Baker at 260-9014.

Parent education continues

The Kenai Peninsula Community Care Center will hold a free video-based parent education program titled “Active Parenting Today” for parents of children ages 2 through 12. The classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays for seven weeks at the Kenai Public Health conference room. Class materials are provided. Parents may register through Wednesday. UCIDA to meet

United Cook Inlet Drift Association members will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. June 30 at the Kenai Elks Lodge. For more information, call Audrey Stephens at 260-9436.

Craft sale set

The Sterling Senior Citizens Center will hold a Christmas in July craft sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 13 and 14. The Elderberry Cafe will be open and homemade goods will be available for purchase.
