Kenai resident Brent Thomas Rohr died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Kenai of cardiac arrest. He was 32.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 159 Marydale Ave., Soldotna. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the services. Bishop Robert Grant will officiate.
Mr. Rohr was born April 18, 1977, in Carmichael, Calif., to Richard and Leslie Rohr. He married Meagan Rohr on June 26, 1999, in Eugene, Ore. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"Brent had many interests including fishing, hunting and the outdoors," his family wrote. "His passion, from a young age, was cooking. He loved creating new recipes and cooking meals for others. When Brent's parents moved to Alaska in 2007, he and his wife Meagan decided to follow in the adventure from Oregon. One of the family's favorite times were campfires on the beach. He was a devoted husband and father and will be missed by his parents, sisters and family."
Mr. Rohr was proceeded in death by his grandfathers, Harold "Skip" Englert and Adolph "Dutch" Rohr.
He is survived by his parents of Soldotna; wife of Kenai; son, Kody Rohr, of Kenai; daughter, Kiana Rohr, of Kenai; sister, Shannnon Green, of Medford, Ore.; and half-sister, Aubrey Wright, of Placerville, Calif.; grandmothers Mary Englert, of Medford, and Anne Hannah, of Fresno, Calif.; and aunts Kathleen Barnett and Jan Monson, of Medford, and Pattie Bartucci and Gayle Galli, of Fresno.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Bridges Community Network/Brent Rohr memorial fund, at Wells Fargo Bank.
