Former Kenai Peninsula resident weds in Missouri

Autumn Dawn Lawrence and Ryan Keith Palmer, both of Carthage, Mo., were married Saturday, June 22, 2002, in an outdoor ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Gloria Lawrence of Carthage. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1993 and received a degree in chemistry and public relations from Missouri Southern State College in 1997. She is working toward a master's degree at Pittsburg State University in Kansas where she earned a teaching degree. She teaches chemistry at Carthage Senior High School.

The groom is the son of Mary Stephens of Neosho, Mo., and Bob Palmer of Kingman, Ariz. He lived on the Kenai Peninsula from 1974 to 1989 and attended Soldotna High School before moving to Neosho, where he graduated from high school in 1992. He wrestled at Missouri Valley College until he transferred to Missouri Southern State College in 1994. He graduated with a degree in psychology and completed his national athletic trainer certification in 1997. He then earned his master's degree in science education, sports psychology and sports administration from the University of Kansas. He is employed by McCune-Brooks Hospital as an athletic trainer and serves in the Missouri National Guard.

The couple plans to live in Carthage.
