ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Coast Guard fireman and his family were rescued after their canoe capsized near Ketchikan, the Coast Guard said Friday.

A Coast Guard boat crew found Charles Bartlett, his wife, Kristal Bartlett, and their toddler son clinging to the overturned canoe Thursday night in the Tongass Narrows, the Coast Guard said. All three were wearing life preservers.

Ketchikan police notified the Coast Guard of the mishap after getting two calls about the capsized canoe.

No one was injured, but the family was transported to a Ketchikan hospital in case of hypothermia, the Coast Guard said.
