Posted: Sunday, June 24, 2001

Kori Hokulani Kuaana and Weston Philip Nash will marry Saturday, July 14, 2001, in Anchorage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kristi and Robert Peel of Juneau, and Danny Kuaana of Indiana. She is a 1995 graduate of Mount Bachelor Academy in Oregon and a 2000 graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree in psychology. She is employed by the Alaska Department of Public Safety, Fish and Wildlife Division, as an administrative clerk.

The future groom is the son of Peggy and Phil Nash of Kenai. He is a 1991 graduate of Kenai Central High School and a 1995 graduate of the UAA with a degree in accounting. He is employed by ACS as a financial management systems accountant.

The couple met in Juneau in 1996 when they were both employed as legislative pages. After asserting he was going to start the new year off right, Weston proposed in the traditional fashion -- on one knee -- in the middle of a crowd in downtown Anchorage at midnight on New Year's Eve 1999.
