Something's wrong in the state of Kenai fishing tournament

Posted: Thursday, June 24, 2004

Such a thorny rose that stinks by any other name is still a derby. Buying rooms and meals and drinks to promote a kill-and-release derby where fish spawn is only the good science of the darkest Danish prince. That these of hook-and-wound mortality are second-run kings because they came for a tournament after July 1 and what of their first-run brothers and sisters who are already in residence; river presence.

It's a three-day party on a public resource. Frank and Nancy were busy shaking hands, there are special awards for Stevens and Knowles, commissioners and fish board members will attend as guests. It appears all the Kenai Klassic Kontroversy will be cleared up just a week and a half before the event. How timely!

Let's present a "lone Wolf" the Moment of Truth and Courage Award that he dared to doubt the king and ask a good question; a question that continues to hang in the haze on the horizon. Thanks Rep. Wolf.
