Oilers lose to Bucs

The Peninsula Oilers dropped their first Alaska Baseball League game and their first road game of the season Thursday, falling 3-0 to the Anchorage Bucs.

The Oilers are now 3-1 in the ABL and 9-3 overall.

The game started an hour late due to a game the Bucs had with the American Legion all-star squad. Bucs pitcher Sung-Wei Tseng and Oilers pitcher Berry Enright quickly made up for lost time.

The two threw up zeros until the sixth inning, when the Bucs struck for the three runs that would be the difference.

Enright took the loss, while Tseng gave up just two hits in posting the shutout. Tseng also struck out five while walking two.

The Oilers travel to face the Mat-Su Miners today at 7 p.m. before facing the Bucs in Anchorage at 7 p.m. Saturday.
