The American Legion Twins split a doubleheader with South Anchorage on Saturday in Anchorage, losing the first game 10-2 while winning the second game 5-3.
In the first game, Twins manager John Butler said his team made numerous mental and physical errors in losing a game that was stopped after seven innings due to the mercy rule. Ben Stalker and Jake Lamphier each went 2-for-3 in the first game.
In the second game, Stalker pitched 4 2-3 innings and allowed three runs and Larsen Kohler finished up the seven-inning game for the save. Josh Gilbert was 2-for-3, Stalker scored two runs and Steven Mabeus was 2-for-4.
The Twins visit Chugiak today in a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader.
