School computer sales scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will sell computers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following schools around the district: Skyview High School -- Wednesday and Thursday; Ninilchik School -- Friday; Seward High School -- Monday and Tuesday; and Soldotna Middle School -- July 2.

Support group classes postponed

The LeeShore Center Domestic Violence Support Group class planned for Friday has been canceled. Also, due to the Fourth of July holiday, there will be no class July 3.

Classes will resume July 10 at 1 p.m.

World Series of baseball slated

The Frontier Community Services will host its sixth annual World Series Baseball event Saturday at the Kenai Little League fields.

The goal of the event is to give individuals with developmental disabilities an opportunity to enjoy the game of baseball. Sign-in begins at 11 a.m. with opening ceremonies and the games beginning at noon. An afternoon of baseball, barbecue and food are planned.

Donations sought

The LeeShore Center will hold its 22nd annual Kenai Peninsula Run for Women on Aug. 8.

Tables will be set up to accept donations from its wish list. Needed items include toilet paper, laundry soap, canned foods, gas cards, phone cards, services for hair cuts and eyeglasses. For more information, call 283-9479.

Marathon gears up

The Kenai River Marathon Committee is looking for volunteers to help with setting up water stations, tracking runners, trail preparation and safety.

The races will include a marathon, half marathon, relay marathon and walkers half marathon and is slated from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27.
