Martinez pinch-hit homer lifts Yankees

NEW YORK -- Tino Martinez hit the first pinch-hit homer of his career, a two-run shot in the seventh inning that lifted the New York Yankees to an 8-7 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday night.

Twins 6, Tigers 3

DETROIT -- Corey Koskie homered and had four RBIs, leading Minnesota over Detroit.

Joe Mays (9-5) allowed two runs on six hits and no walks in seven innings.

Orioles 8, Blue Jays 2

TORONTO -- Jay Gibbons hit a three-run homer as Baltimore beat Toronto.

Gibbons, a former Blue Jays farmhand, has homered in each of the four games he's played against his former organization.

Red Sox 12, Devil Rays 8

BOSTON -- Dante Bichette hit a grand slam and added an RBI double as Boston survived a bad start by David Cone to improve to 10-0 against Tampa Bay this season. Boston snapped a three-game losing streak -- tied for its longest of the season.

Angels 11, Rangers 7

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Ramon Ortiz beat Texas for the fourth time in as many starts this year, and Anaheim rocked Kenny Rogers for eight runs.

Every batter in the Angels' lineup had at least one hit in a 16-hit attack against the team with baseball's worst pitching this season.

Rafael Palmeiro hit his 20th homer and drove in three runs for Texas.

Ortiz (6-5) allowed five runs on eight hits -- including Alex Rodriguez's 22nd homer -- in seven innings. He topped the Rangers -- and Rogers -- for the second time in five days.

Rogers (3-5) allowed 10 hits and walked four in just 3 1-3 innings. He hasn't won since May 22.
