Oilers’ slide reaches four

Posted: Monday, June 26, 2006

The Peninsula Oilers dropped their fourth straight decision Monday, falling 2-1 to the Mat-Su Miners.

The Oilers got the game’s first run on a Jim Pollack RBI single, but couldn’t scratch out another run against the Miners’ pitching staff.

Mat-Su pitchers Greg Kein, Chris Wietlispach and Steve Kost combined to surrender just three Peninsula hits.

Wietlispach picked up the win, while Oilers reliever Taylor Bills took the loss.

The Oilers are now 1-4 in Alaska Baseball League play.
