Reader: Bill has hidden info

Posted: Tuesday, June 26, 2007

There is an amendment attached to the Immigration Bill (S.1348) that does not seem to be discussed in the media or to be common knowledge. It is called the real ID act — shades of George Orwell’s “1984.”

Everyone who applies would be issued electronic papers to present on demand such as Germany had in the 1930s. Also, you would not be allowed to vote if you did not have this card.

This does not sound like a democracy with a constitution and a bill of rights.
