Ceremony great, turnout not so much

I want to thank the American soldier defender of freedom and the greater Kenai Peninsula community for presenting the Freedom Salute Ceremony, which was presented April 14 at Soldotna High School.

I was very disappointed in the turnout. What is more important than supporting our own young soldiers from our area who are putting their lives on the line for us? This is what our freedom is all about. Wake up America!

This program lasted only one hour. It is too bad more people couldn't have taken the time to be there to thank them. When you see a military person, no matter where they are, the grocery store, on the street or at the airport, go up to them, shake their hand and say "thank you for what you are doing for us, we support you." Show some consideration for what they are doing for us.

Thank you Dave Carey and Ken Lancaster. You did a great job putting this together.
