Independence Mine Historical Park to reopen

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The Independence Mine Historical Park will reopen to the public Saturday following a two-year closure for renovations and construction.
The park is northwest of Palmer.
Work was done to viewing platforms, the mine tunnel entrance and buildings in the mine complex.
Starting Saturday, park officials will be providing hour-long guided tours of the site.
