Genealogy society to meet tonight

The Kenai Totem Tracers Genealogy Society general meeting will be today at 6:30 p.m. at the Kenai Community Library.

Habitat groundbreaking ceremony planned

Central Peninsula Habitat for Humanity will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its 11th home on Saturday at 1 p.m. The site is in Habitat Acres in Kenai. For more information, call 283-7797.

Science program presents 'Meet an Aquanaut'

The Science on the Kenai interpretive program will feature Rich Capitan of the Alaska SeaLife Center presenting "Meet an Aquanaut" on Monday at 3 p.m. at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. For more information, call center at 283-1991.

Health center to close July 4

The Homer Public Health Center will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The center normally schedules walk-in clinics every Tuesday and Thursday. For more information, call the center at (907) 235-8857.

Watershed forum sponsoring mountain walk

The Kenai Watershed Forum will hold a one-day training session to become an Alaska flora expert on July 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Willow expert Dominique Collet will guide a general flora mountain walk. For more information, call the forum at 260-5449.

Soldotna museum open

The Soldotna Historical Society Homesteader Village and Museum is open May 15 through Sept. 15. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. The museum and village is on Centennial Park Road in Soldotna. WRCC looking for radiothon volunteers

Animal society in need of donations
