Native fellowship tonight

The North Wind Native Fell-owship meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Friday of each month at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, Mile 19.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Every fourth gathering includes a Native potluck. Family and friends are invited to the interdenominational Native outreach. A children's ministry is provided for children in fourth grade and under. For more information, call Van or Vide Van Velzor at 260-3293.

Nikiski Samaritans tee up

All are invited to a golf tournament at Cottonwood Country Club in Nikiski on Saturday to raise funds for the Good Samaritan Ministries. Tee times begin at 1 p.m. and entry costs $15 per person. The event will be a four-person scramble with prizes for best overall score and closest to the pin.

God and country rally set

A multi-church God and country rally is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at Kenai Central High School.

Artisans sought for fest

Abundant Life Assembly of God

Church in Sterling is seeking artisans and crafts people to host booths at its Freedom Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 5.

The public is welcome to attend the festival, which will include carnival games, a flea market, food and live music.

Booth rental is $5 and sponsors should plan to bring their own tables. Booth set-up will begin at 8 a.m. July 5 and booths must be reserved by Thursday. Call Rena White at 262-0694.

Music troupe performs

The Young Continentals will perform at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, Mile 19.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road, July 6 at 9:30 and 11 a.m.

The group features 30 high-energy singers, dancers and technicians ages 12 to 15 performing their cutting-edge music ministry.

Basketball camp offered

College Heights Baptist Church will sponsor a basketball camp for boys and girls grades four through nine July 7-9 from 7 to 9 p.m. The camp will be led by coach Will Pratz, who has led Bell Shoals Baptist Academy to a record of 107 wins and three losses in 5 years. Children's vacation Bible school planned

Peninsula Grace Brethren Church is planning a vacation Bible school for children ages 4 through sixth grade from 9 a.m. to noon July 7-11 at 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Community Day coming up

The second annual Community Day, sponsored by most Nikiski churches, will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 12 at the recreation area behind the Nikiski pool. The event will be full of free family activities. There will be local talent throughout the day and free food and drinks, craft tables for children, organized games, goat-pulled cart rides for kids, a baby goat petting zoo, a volleyball net and bingo with prized. The Soldotna Church of God is organizing a camp meeting for people of all ages July 13 to 20.

Churches host Oilers baseball game

The Peninsula Oilers baseball team will take on Athletes in Action during an annual game sponsored by several area churches at 7 p.m. July 18 at Oilers Field in Kenai.

Rainbow Poets to award $5,000

The New Jersey Rainbow Poets will award 50 prizes totaling $5,000 in its religious poetry contest. Included is a grand prize of $1,000.

Bible study looks back to Jerusalem

Healing Rooms open every Friday and Saturday

The Healing Rooms, a Bible-based Christian ministry in Kenai, is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Healing Rooms is located across from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on the Kenai Spur Highway next to Little Ski-Mo.
