Berry growers to meet
Alaska Berry Growers will meet at 3 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The featured speaker will be Dan Skipwith. His topic will be the importance of pollination in agricultural projects and propagation of wild blueberries.

Baseball game up to bat
Frontier Community Services’ annual world series baseball event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Little League fields.

Kenai library plans Sunday closures
Beginning Sunday the Kenai Community Library will be closed Sundays. The library will re-open Sundays beginning Sept. 9.
Social Security reps to visit peninsula
The Social Security Administration makes monthly visits to the peninsula at the following times: first Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kenai City Hall; third Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Homer Senior Citizens Center; and the third Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seward City Hall.

Unity run set to start
The fourth annual Kenai, Soldotna Unity Run will be held at 9 a.m. July 7 at the Soldotna High School. A 10 mile and 5-kilometer runs will held on the Unity Trail. Runners may register day of race or in advance at www.soldotnarotary.org.
Kids reading program continues
Kids are invited to join the Triumvirate Bookstore Frequent Reader Program. Upon signing up, kids can pick out one free book, a reading calendar and reading program rules at the bookstore in the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Bookstore hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Each time a reader returns their initialed calendar (weekly or monthly) to the bookstore, they can pick out another free book and get their calendar punched. Get up to four extra punches each month for special activities like reading to a younger sibling, attending a storytelling session, reading to a nonparent adult or filling out a “kid’s pick” sheet on your favorite book.
