The American Legion Twins split a doubleheader with Dimond on Saturday in Anchorage. The Twins are now 5-5 in the conference and 6-15 overall.

The Twins won the first game -- the conference game -- 12-1 in five innings. Sam Bowler got the complete-game victory for the Twins.

"Sam Bowler only got behind four batters," Twins manager John Butler said.

On offense, the Twins had 10 hits. Mitchell Thompson was 2-for-3 with three runs, Josiah Covey was 2-for-3 with three runs, Steven Steger was 2-for-3 with two runs, and Mikey Griffin was 2-for-3.

"We hit the ball really well," Butler said. "The defense played excellent as well."

In the second game, the Lynx turned the tables, winning 16-1 in five innings. Butler said his team hit the ball well in the first inning, but Dimond made three great plays to hold the Twins to a run in the first inning. Butler said that gave Dimond the momentum.

Braden Price, Jake Darrow and Steven Steger were all 2-for-3 for the Twins.

Butler also said this was the first day the Twins had their whole team together. The Twins play Service today in a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader.
