Goldbelt exec gets university finance job

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An executive with the Juneau Native corporation has been named vice president for finance of the University of Alaska.

Joseph M. Beedle has been president and chief executive officer of Goldbelt, Inc. for the past six years. He will assume his new job in Fairbanks on Aug. 1.

University President Mark Hamilton said Beedle will administer the university's annual budget of more than $500 million. He will make $140,000 annually.

Prior to joining Goldbelt, Beedle was executive vice president and chief credit officer for Key Bank of Alaska.
