Martinez leads Yankees past Cleveland

NEW YORK -- Tino Martinez went 4-for-5 with a homer and five RBIs to give some rare run support to Mike Mussina as the New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians 15-5 on Wednesday.

Orioles 7, Blue Jays 3

TORONTO -- Tony Batista hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer against his former team as Baltimore beat Toronto.

Batista, claimed on waivers Monday, went 3-for-4 and his homer off Esteban Loaiza (5-8) gave Baltimore a 5-3 lead in the sixth.

Devil Rays 9, Red Sox 7

BOSTON -- Brent Abernathy hit a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning as Tampa Bay beat Boston for the first time in 12 tries this season.

Royals 5, Tigers 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Endy Chavez snapped an 0-for-21 slump with an RBI single, capping a two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth that lifted Kansas City over Detroit.

Twins 4, White Sox 1

MINNEAPOLIS -- Kyle Lohse scattered three hits over seven innings to earn his first major league victory as Minnesota beat Chicago to move back into first place in the AL Central.

Athletics 6, Mariners 3

SEATTLE -- Ramon Hernandez hit his first career grand slam and Terrence Long had a two-run homer as the Oakland Athletics beat the Seattle Mariners.

Tim Hudson (8-5) got help from the Athletics' bullpen, which pitched 3 1-3 scoreless innings. Jason Isringhausen got his 14th save.

Angels 4, Rangers 2

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Bengie Molina, activated from the disabled list before the game, hit an RBI single during a four-run rally in the eighth inning that sent the Anaheim Angels over the Texas Rangers.

Garret Anderson hit a tying, two-run homer in the eighth. Molina put the Angels ahead and pinch-hitter Scott Spiezio added a sacrifice fly.

Jarrod Washburn (6-4) won his fifth straight decision -- in a span of nine starts -- allowing two runs and seven hits in eight innings. The left-hander struck out eight and walked four.

Doug Davis (3-6) held the Angels to one hit over the first 6 1-3 innings and entered the eighth with a four-hit shutout.
