ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man was killed Thursday when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle, Anchorage police said.
Nicholas Isaacs, 21, was backing up his Toyota four-runner at a high-rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a curb, flipping the vehicle, police said. Isaacs was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered massive head injuries.
Two passengers, Craig Aglietti, 21, and Walter Hickel III, 22, were wearing seatbelts and suffered minor injuries.
The two left the scene to report the accident. When they returned Aglietti got in a scuffle with one of the officers and had to be subdued with pepper spray. He was cited for disorderly conduct and resisting a lawful order.
Aglietti and Hickel acknowledged they had been drinking. Police said it was not clear if Isaacs had been drinking.
