A humpback whale lung-feeds in front of kayakers Monday, June 17, 2002 in Juneau, Alaska. The kayakers were part of a tour group returning to the North Douglas boat ramp. Humpback, which are baleen whales, feed on krill, small shrimp-like crustaceans and various small fish. The whales eat up to one and a half tons of food a day.
