Thanks to businesses, poppies spring up in lots of places

The VFW Jerry V. Horn Memorial Post No. 10046 and its Ladies Auxiliary wish to thank Fred Meyer, Safeway, Trustworthy Hardware and the U.S. Post Offices in Kenai and Soldotna for allowing on-site distribution of poppies during our recent Buddy Poppy Drive.

We also thank the following businesses for accepting cans for poppy donations: Beemun’s, B.J.’s, Big John’s, Big T, Bing Brown, Buckets, Cook’s Corner, Decanter Inn, Elks Lodge (Soldotna), Froso’s, Great Alaska Pizza, Holiday Gas, Hooligans, Harley Davidson, Kasilof Mercantile, King Salmon Hotel and Restaurant, Longmere Liquor, Maverick, Mom and Dad Grocery, Mosquitoes, Mykel’s, Riverside House, Soldotna Animal Hospital, Chevron Station, Soldotna Professional Pharmacy, Soldotna Senior Citizens Center, Spenard Builders Supply, Sterling Senior Center, Suzie’s Restaurant, Sweeney’s and Tesoro Stations Nos. 203 and 207.

The Poppies are made by military veterans, and all proceeds are designated funds to assist veterans and their families in need.
