Flower boxes fund museum

The Kenai Fine arts Center has flower boxes for sale at at 816 Cook St. in Kenai. funds raised from the remodeling of the front of the building. The boxes are $20 each.

Fair releases exhibitor info

The Kenai Peninsula State Fair’s exhibitor guides have been released. The guides are available for those wishing to exhibit arts, crafts, plants and livestock at the fairgrounds in Ninilchik from Aug. 18-20. Guides are available at the Fair Office, the Ninilchik Library, the Ninilchik Senior Center, the Ninilchik Traditional Council, the Ninilchik General Store and Deep Creek Sport Shop in Ninilchik; Beemuns, the K-Beach Cooperative Extension Office on Kalifornsky Beach Road, the Soldotna Public Library and the Soldotna Senior Center in Soldotna; the Kenai Library, the Kenai Senior Center and Kenai Fabric Center in Kenai; Homer Soil and Water in Homer and at the Nikiski Post Office.

Stained glass classes open

Sandy Stevens will offer the following stained glass classes through August at her studio in Sterling: beginning lead came or copper plate from 1 to 6 p.m. Fridays and Wednesdays; intermediate lead came or copper foil from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and beginning and intermediate lead came or copper foil from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The latter is a two-part class. Each class costs $125, plus the cost of glass.

Arts fund expanded

The Rasmuson Foundation has new guidelines and applications for the Harper Arts Touring Fund. The fund is available for rural and underserved communities in Alaska, and has been expanded to include traveling art and cultural exhibits. Eligible organizations are nonprofit organizations, governmental and tribal entities and educational institutions. For guidelines, application forms, and more information, visit www.rasmuson.org.

July mosaic classes set

The Morning Star Studio in Homer will offer the following classes, beginning in July: Beginning Fusing from 4 to 6 p.m. July 5 and 12 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8; Beginning Stained Glass on July 7 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Glass on Glass Mosaic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13; Mosaic Trivet or Mini Mirror from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14; Traditional Glass Stains from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 15; Stained Glass sunburst from 10 a.m. to noon July 18-19; Stepping Stone-Grouted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 21; Mosaic Wall Mirror from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 25-26 and Fusing with Sifted Enamels from 1 to 4 p.m. July 27.
