Kids car seat checks planned

Child car seat checks will be performed at the Central Emergency Services fire station in Soldotna from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

Safety technicians will check to be sure the car seat or booster seat is the correct one for the child’s age, weight and height.

For more information, call Safe Kids at 714-4539.

Historians to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society board of directors will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the main museum building on Centennial Park Road. The public is invited.

Market space offered to school kids

In response to public requests, Kenai’s Saturday Market is offering space to school-age youths who would like to sell their own goods at the market, located next to the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center.

A small vendor fee — $10 or 10 percent of sales, whichever is less — will be charged, and youths need to comply with federal, state and market regulations. Space is limited and will be awarded on first come, first served basis.

Youths should determine which Saturday they would like to reserve before calling Harold Piland at 283-1991.

Dogs events coming to Skyview

The Kenai Kennel Club will host American Kennel Club agility, conformation, obedience and rally shows July 7, 8 and 9 at Skyview High School on the Sterling Highway. Events begin at 9 a.m. each day and generally run until mid afternoon.

Spectators are encouraged to bring seating and be prepared for inclement weather. Only dogs entered are allowed on the grounds.

Volunteers also are needed to assist with the venues. For more information, call the kennel club at 335-2552 and leave a message.
