ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison for robbing two Anchorage banks last year.

Wayne Michael Sexton was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge John Sedwick in Anchorage.

Sexton admitted using a gun in both robberies. Nearly half of the sentence was for the gun use, prosecutors said.

Sexton confessed to robbing a Bank of America branch of $4,300 in June of 1999. In November, he got $2,000 from a robbery at a Credit Union One branch.
