Clothes closet opens

The First Baptist Church in Soldotna will offer free clothing from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday in the garage at 119 Little St., off of Binkley.

Church to honor military

As part of its Independence Day observance, Peninsula Grace Brethren Church will honor present and former members of the military at 11 a.m. Sunday at Mile 19.5 of Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Veterans, service members who have recently returned from overseas and those being deployed with the Alaska National Guard will be recognized. Veterans and service members are invited to attend in uniform.

Church night set at Oiler Park

The annual Church Night at Oiler Park will be July 7 when the Peninsula Oilers take on the Athletes in Action Fire.

Athletes in Action is an outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Following the 7 p.m. baseball game, an AIA player will give a talk to players and fans in the stands.

Tickets can be picked up at area participating churches or by calling 262-7416.

Crowder to speak in Sterling

Linfield Crowder, nationally and internationally known for his insight into the Word of God as well as for his sense of humor, will speak at Abundant Life Assembly of God, during the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services July 9.

During his 50-plus years in ministry, Crowder has been host for 40 tours to Israel. He and his wife, Nellie Blue, reside in American Falls, Idaho.

VBS plans fiesta

The Peninsula Grace Brethren Church will hold vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 10-14 at Mile 19.5 of Kalifornsky Beach Road, across from Craig Taylor Equipment. Children ages 4 years through sixth grade are invited to a fiesta celebration, with music, games, Bible learning, crafts and snacks. For more information, call 262-6442.

Bible school takes youth to edge

“Trek to the Arctic Edge: Where Adventure Meets Courage” (TM) with vacation Bible school at First Baptist Church in Soldotna.

Music, games and crafts are offered to children in kindergarten through sixth grade, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 10-14. For more information, call 262-4304.

Summer Bible school sets sail

Grace Lutheran Church School will host its vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 24-28, one block off Kalifornsky Beach Road on Ciechanski Road. Children from preschool through eighth grade are welcome to “Set Sail with the Son. Join the Crew.”

Clothes available

Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. It is in the back of the parking lot of Our Lady of the Angels Church, 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.
