Patrick 'Pat' Mark Luzzo

Posted: Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Kenai resident Patrick "Pat" Mark Luzzo, 51, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home in Kenai due to natural causes.

Memorial Service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Nikiski Church of Christ, Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. A gathering followed at the church. His remains will be scattered in a special spot on the peninsula by daughters at a later date. A family remembrance will take place in July.

Mr. Luzzo was born Dec, 6, 1956, to Tom and Wilma (Dupuis) Luzzo in Wallace, Idaho. He was a former resident of Richland, Wash. He was employed with a local Home health care company. He also was a member of the Nikiski Church of Christ.

He was the seventh son of parents Tom and Wilma Luzzo of Richland, Wash. He died away on Father's Day in Kenai.

He grew up in Richland and graduated from Columbia (Richland) High in 1979. Pat loved to run and was a member of the Long Green Line Cross Country team at Richland. Pat married Delia Schauer in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho in 1992. He moved with his wife and daughter Krystina to Alaska in 1997. Their second daughter, Jennifer, was born two years later.

"Patrick was very involved with the Nikiski Church of Christ in Kenai and loved living in Alaska. He was a true "Alaskan" in every sense of the word and was crazy about baseball. Pat's two daughters are in Kenai with their mother. Pat loved his daughters very much and never forgot to rave about their successes in school and in life. He was loved by his church community and they have been very helpful with assisting his family with attending to his last needs," his family said. "Pat will be remembered most for his love of food, his infectious laugh, his ability to remember everyone's' special days (always a phone call for birthdays and holidays), and enjoyment of the outdoors. His ashes will be spread at a special place on the Kenai Peninsula, a place he never wanted to leave. He will be missed by his family and friends."

He is survived by his parents; daughters, Krystina and Jennifer; siblings, Tony (Judy), Frank, Joe, Dave (Casey), Bill, Mike, Bob, Dan (Naomi), Mary (Craig McPheron), Teresa, Julie (Bill Sommerfeld), and Dori (Joe Gilmour); aunts, Betty (Dud) Dudley, Ruth (Dave) Lambert, Dottie (Ed Norton); uncles, Ron (Debbie) Luzzo and Bill (Karen) Dupuis; and 19 nieces and nephews.

Condolence may be sent to C/O Tom Luzzo to 1431 McPherson Richland WA 99354.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
