All new Instant Replay opens on K-Beach Rd

Before the advent of the instant replay in sports, many magical sporting moments were lost during a quick trip to the phone, kitchen, or elsewhere.

As any hockey Mom or Dad can attest to, many magical sporting moments have likewise been lost due to gear that is grown out before it gets worn out. But now on the Central Peninsula there is a new "Instant Replay," that is designed to save those moments as well as the cost of outfitting the young sports enthusiast.

The Instant Replay sports store is the idea of retail entrepreneurs Darlene and Dean Glick of Soldotna, and their five children. "We buy, sell and trade in new and used gear. We're open to anything from snowboards to hockey gear to any sporting apparel you'd like to bring buy for us to take a look at. We're trying to deal in everything that people need down here," said Darlene.

It's a family operation with daughter Deana and Clark helping out behind the counter, "It's really fun, and I enjoy working here. I dance and we're getting more dance clothes all the time," said Deana. With five children the Glick's became very familiar with gear that no longer fits and the expense of always buying new equipment when last year's no longer fits correctly, thus Instant Replay, "One of the things that my husband and I really enjoy is seeing kids involved with sports and that's what we're here to encourage. We also have items that are hard to find down here like Pro-fit hats and Easton sunglasses. We try to hit it all from hockey, wrestling, baseball, soccer, and specialty items for all ages," added Glick.

The Instant Replay has been open since last fall across from Skyline Drive on K-Beach Rd. in the old pottery log building that once was Hamlin Appliances.

Summer hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11:00am 6:00pm.
