Businesses, parents make Sterling carnival successful

Posted: Friday, July 02, 2004

The Sterling Elementary PTA would like to thank the following businesses for their support of our annual spring carnival. With some of the profits, the PTA was able to continue to help our school library, have an Anchorage artist teach at our school for two weeks, support RIF, purchase new playground equipment and so many more worthwhile projects.

As you may know, many elementary schools like ours rely heavily on the PTA for activities that were once covered, like art, music, library and even PE. With the help of these area businesses, our Falcons can really soar.

Thanks to A Misty Memory, Advanced Business Service, Alaska USA, Alaska Wedding Brokers, Alaska's Best Water, Alaskan Gifts, Anchorage Daily News, Art Works, Beemun's, Bing's, Birch Ridge Golf Coarse, Blockbuster Video, Coffee and Creams, Coffee Concepts, Curves, Eyewear Express, Fashion Outlet, Frames and Things, Fred Meyer, Gingers, Gloria's Hair, GNC, Godfather's Pizza, Golden International, Harley Davidson, Klondike Cache, KT's Espresso, Lighthouse Video and More, Martin Mines, Mary's Hairstyling, Mike's Welding, Mom and Dad's, North Country Fair, Old Grey Mare, Odie's Bead It, Papa Murphy's, Parker Maps and Charters, Penny Saver, Pizza Boys, Primo Pizza, Professional Heating, Quality Ice, Regal Interiors, Penny at Regal Foods, Reindeer Pause, Sadler's, Soldotna Animal Hospital, Soldotna Center Mall, Soldotna Florist, Soldotna Spur 2Go Mart Tesoro, Sonoma Florist, Sterling Auto, Sterling Needle Works, Sterling Tool Rental, Suburban Propane, Subway, Sugar Magnolia's, SunDog Screen Printers, Sweeney's, Tail Waggers Grooming, The Chat Room, The Hobby Shop, The UPS Store, Tina's Too Styling Salon, Top Video, Trustworthy Hardware and U-Haul.

Special thanks also to Mary D., who went door-to-door to ask for and collect these donations. With such an amazing community, you can see she was rarely turned away empty handed.

The PTA also would like to thank the teachers and staff who worked the carnival and the parents who donated their time and items for the class baskets.

We would like to personally thank each parent by name, but for fear of forgetting someone, we will simply say that without your help, there would be no PTA. Words are just not enough to express our sincere gratitude for the time you give.
