Troopers investigate Wasilla homicide

Posted: Monday, July 03, 2000

WASILLA (AP) -- An Anchorage man was shot and killed after being stopped on a Wasilla-area road late Saturday afteroon, Alaska State Troopers said.

Michael Carr, 34, was driving a 1989 Ford Fiesta on Hayfield Road at about 5 p.m. when the vehicle in front of him stopped. A man got out of the vehicle, walked back to Carr's vehicle and shot him, troopers said.

Investigators describe the suspect as a white man in his early 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 145 pounds with blond hair and a mustache.

Troopers say the suspect's vehicle was a late-model sport utility, maroon or dark red.
