Good-natured 'grouches' help Lions help community

The Nikiski Cook Inlet Lions Club would like to congratulate 2002 Nikiski Grouch Walt Spooner and the Nikiski Senior Center for their successful campaign.

This year's Grouch recieved a total of 2,354 votes, beating out second place candidate Dana Bassel from the Peninsula Moose Family Center, third place Fred Angleton, fourth place Tom Hindman and fifth place Jim Olson.

We would like to express a sincere thank you for all the support from the community and the following businesses: Nikiski Senior Center, Peninsula Moose Family Center, Katmai, Angleton Enterprises, Jim's Towing, The Hunger Hut, M & M Market, KSRM and the Peninsula Clarion.

Without the generous support from all of you, we would not be able to continue the mission of Lions: We serve.

Lion Richard E. Dominick
