WASHINGTON Alecko Eskandarian had two goals and Earnie Stewart scored for the first time since last September, giving D.C. United a 6-2 win over the MetroStars Saturday.

The six goals tied a D.C. franchise record, set July 7, 1996 against Dallas. The win also moves the United (5-5-5) into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Freddy Adu entered the game in the 82nd minute, and was hit with yellow card in his season-low eight minutes of play.

Crew 2, Fire 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio Edson Buddle and Jeff Cunningham scored late in the first half to help Columbus beat Chicago.

Goalkeeper Jon Busch earned his fourth shutout of the season for the Crew (5-5-3).

Buddle opened the scoring in the 43rd minute after midfielder Ross Paule took the ball from Chicago's Andy Williams.

One minute later, Crew midfielder Kyle Martino stripped the ball from Chris Armas and set up Cunningham, whose shot deflected off Chicago's Kelly Gray and into the back of the net.

Wizard 5, Burn 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Davy Arnaud scored three goals to lead Kansas City to a 5-1 victory that moved the Wizards into first place in the Western Conference.

Kansas City (7-4-4, 25 points) scored three goals late in the second half to break open a close game.

Josh Wolff and Chris Klein added goals for the Wizards.

Jason Kreis tied the score 1-1 for Dallas in the 31st minute but was ejected in the 45th minute for elbowing Wizards midfielder Kerry Zavagnin in the face. That left Dallas a man short for the second half.
