Time to learn from history

Posted: Friday, July 04, 2008

In light of the disgusting display by our justice system and the large corporation Exxon, Alaskans should do some thorough thinking before allowing another large corporation with empty promises into the state. I am referring to the Pebble Mine.

If Pebble Mine goes through, there will be an extremely large pit full of toxic waste in a beautiful and critical part habitat of this great state. This pit will be there forever, unlike Anglo American and Northern Dynasty and their promises.

We have all seen what large corporations will do in the event of an environmental catastrophe, and it scares me that some Alaskans are willing to allow another resource-sucking, money-grubbing, leave-a-mess-behind corporation in without even considering the possible negative impacts.

It's time to start learning from history.
